As in previous years, Dr. Sun performed the most thorough eye exam and explained everything PLUS more. She was intuitive and picked up on non-verbal actions. For example, I was carrying a book, she asked about my reading habits and subsequently advised me on the appropriate cataract surgery. SHE IS FANTASTIC!!!

This week I awoke on a weekday morning with severe pain in my right eye. I called Dr. Paulatos who saw me the same day. After discussion and examination, it was clear the problem was from dehydration from a stomach bug I was battling, and the dehydration had caused several problems with my eyes. She calmly gave me very clear information, instructions, and a prescription for eye drops. Her gracious kind chair-side manner calmed my mounting anxiety. Within 2 days I was feeling better. I am grateful to have Dr. Paulatos as my doctor.

While on vacation @ Folly Beach, I had an eye issue. Dr. Sun’s office was able to work me in within 24 hours of calling. I injured my eye during a vacation at Folly Beach and needed to be seen by someone on a Saturday. I figured an optometrist would know more about the eye and have better resources than someone in an urgent care clinic, and found Dr. Sun online. Lucky me! She took a thorough medical history and used her equipment to find the injury, take pictures of it, and send them to me so that I could share them with my eye doctor at home. She explained my situation carefully and clearly, prescribed an antibiotic, and recommended additional things I could do at home not only to heal the injury but also to improve the condition of my eyes long-term. She was off on Sunday but called me to follow up, and said she was willing to see me in her office again that day if I wasn't feeling better. She provided a level of care well above and beyond what I'd expect from any medical clinician, let alone someone hundreds of miles from my home. Dr. Sun was a godsend.

My last visit was June 2019, but the pandemic prevented me from keeping my annual eye exam. I returned yesterday after taking a road trip and realizing that my vision had declined. It was so good to see Dr Sun and I enjoyed talking with Mia (hope I spelled that correctly). Mia is new to me, but very personable and professional. Sadly, but inevitable, I now need glasses. Dr Sun has my utmost respect. She is professional in every way and yet we chatted about our pandemic lives while waiting for my eyes to dilate. That was a BIG PLUS, as in the past I would around Walmart for that to happen.

I am a retired nurse with 35 + years of healthcare experience mostly in the areas of public health and quality Management (regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction & HIPAA) I was very impressed by the staff. Dr. Sun, her assistant and the person that filled my prescription were all knowledgeable, friendly, professional and attentive. As a seasoned QA/QM RN and HIPAA Compliance officer, I was disappointed in your "Dated/Obsolete Medical History form. From a HIPAA standpoint I found it very intrusive of your Patient's HIPAA Privacy rights. There is no reason for asking questions about about SS #, Sexual STI history, social habits, alcohol consumption, smoking habits (maybe could see a little reason for smoking question), all previous surgeries (unless related to the eyes),... etc. That is putting you at a high liability risk should there be a compromised exposure of your medical record system. That could result in huge Federal fines and personal patient law suits. As I am sure you know, your individual staff can be fined in addition to the company. Depending on the # of disclosures (even very low, you must notify affected patients) you would be required to fully disclose what you did in public documents. (And you must notify any regulatory agencies that monitor you.) My other concern is the slow appt availability time and prescription fill time. I suddenly realized that I needed an appt when I tried to take an out-of-town trip (family funeral) any had to turn around because I had a hard time visualizing my lane, in 3 lane traffic going 65-70 miles per hr.. Your 1st available appt was about 10 days out. I kept that appt (5/24/21) and immediately purchased and ordered my glasses. I offered to pay extra for express mail but was told that was not an option. They should arrive10 or so days later. When in this age of amazon 24 hr delivery, I think you should at least be able to handle do 5-7 day delivery.

Fantastic service. However, it began from the beginning with Maya's assistance helping me get scheduled. I asked to be please call me with any cancellations and she did three times. I hadn't had an exam in a long while and was wearing older glasses. Dr Sun gave me the most comprehensive exam I have ever had. I am 70 years old so deeply appreciated the glaucoma and macular degeneration tests. But the best is that Dr. Sun explained every step and even let me see the images she took of the inside of my eye and pointed out areas of concern.

She took extra time to explain the details of her observation and specific results of her exam. Dr. Sun is extremely good at what she does and her procedures are so streamlined it feels like no time is wasted without feeling rushed. I received 3 auto text msgs and 1 personal call for confirmation of my appointment. I arrived 10 mins early and tried to call, got voicemail, came to the door and tried to call again voicemail again. I knocked on the door and Nia came out but would not let me in. They had some insurance problem with a previous customer and were behind schedule. It was very cold I asked if I could go inside NO I could not. I told her I'd wander around Walmart until she called. I wandered around walmart for a good 30 mins and got the call to come in. I knocked on the door as it was repeatedly locked. Nia came to unlock and let me in. My temperture was taken and Nia saked me some additional covid related questions. I sat for another 10 mins before my eye exam. I was shivering cold and not happy. Appointment itself was fine and helpfully explained. The Doctor was very personable and informative. Your procedure for Covid is ridiculous having to wait or wander outside. Even restaurants are open serving food to people with no masks on. Surely we could sit and wait with masks on after temperature check. On the original call I received I asked the operator what my exam would cost she said she had to check and would call me back. I never received that call.
