I absolutely love Dr Ditto, Musick and Kroggle. My grandson and I both see Dr Kroggle and she is the best. She is very friendly and my grandson does not warm up to anyone quickly. The facility is clean and everyone is very professional, yet very personable and approachable. They have a very good selection of eye-wear and I love their reminder services so that you don’t forget to make your yearly appointments.

Appreication for special consideration on June 14 — James D.
Office manager Nathan kindly worked me into Dr. Musick's Monday, June 14 schedule for 4:30 pm. Four weeks after May 14 cataract removal surgery on my single working eye, I wanted to see the doctor for a refraction and new lens so I could once again be able to read or see up close. On May 24, when I phoned for an appt.for June 14, I learned the doctor was booked up till late July. I had an appt with the eye surgeon on June 14, and if cleared for a refraction, I wanted to see Dr. Musick ASAP. I asked Nathan if I could be worked into the June 14 schedule. Otherwise, I would have unable to read and do a lot of things until I could see Dr. Musick. As always, the warm and pleasant Dr. Musick did a thorough job evaluating my recent cataract removal surgery and my current medical condition. He examined both eyes for any damage caused by Type II diabetes and he examined the implant sewn onto the back of my legally blind left eye. The refraction was done and the doctor took his time speaking to my present and future vision concerns. The consultation was highly satisfactory in every way. - Jim Deaton, Lexington, Ky.

I’ve been seeing John Musick for over 30 years and there is no eye care professional that comes anywhere close to his professionalism, dedication, and courteous care. He is the best! His knowledge base is unsurpassed (he teaches other professionals) and coupled with the bedside manner of a Marcus Welby (ok, showing my age w that reference), you won’t find a better clinician. He takes all the time needed for each of his patients and never rushes through my eye exam like I’ve had some MDs do. So I always get the best Rx for my contacts and glasses. And the icing on the cake is that he is a fine Christian gentleman of impeccable integrity. What more could you possibly want ?

You don't feel like a number. You are a person, and a person that they want to help! Dr. Musick even told me "If you need me, call me and leave me a message. I will call you back". And, I know he will, as he has in the past. The entire staff is so attentive and helpful. Having a history of Glaucoma, I don't think that I could have found a better ophthalmologist to continue my care after we moved here in 2013.

The doctors and nurses are very professional and kind and work especially well with children. I did feel, however, that the staff member we worked with at the optical shop was un-pleasant. She seemed irritated when we handled the two pairs of frames that we did try on. Later when she was measuring my son's face/eyes she seemed irritated that his mask was sliding down his face. She told him to "pull your mask up", but my son is special needs (autism) and has slow auditory processing and paused because he didn't understand that 'pull up' meant 'make sure the mask is covering your nose'. Rather than explain her request with more specific wording, she repeated "pull your mask up" with increased impatience. I fully understand and agree with the significance of current health concerns. But my son is autistic, and only 11 and I would have appreciated more patience from the staff-member. I felt we were being rushed through the frame selection and fitting procedure, as if our being there was an imposition. We will continue to come for medical care, but will probably switch to a different optical shop.

With the Covid restrictions, I would say my eye appointment went very well. I called from my car to let team members know I had arrived. They sent someone to car to take my temperature, was asked some questions to do with Covid, received form to look over and sign and take in when they called to let me know the Doctor was ready. My first visit to Dr.Musick was when I was 13 years old. Wow!! I couldn’t believe what I had missed seeing in the distance!! At some point Dr. Musick went to Louisville to teach Optometry. While he was doing that I would see Dr Ditto. When Dr Musick came back to Nicholasville I mostly made my appointments with him. I am now 56 years old and needed to get in as soon as possible. Dr Ditto to my luck had a cancellation while I was talking to one of the schedulers. It was great to visit and reminisce with Dr Ditto. Just one of the many awesome things about Dr Musick and Dr Ditto is they are both on the highest level of care, professionalism, and friendliness!! And that trickles down to all their staff as well!! Great people doing a great job!! 43 years of taking care of my eye care and never ever a thought of going anywhere else!!!!

I highly recommend Dr Ditto. He is very thorough and listens to his patients. He makes suggestions when applicable and is very professional. My only complaint is that I waited over 45 minutes to be called back. When I was called back, I was told there had been two emergencies that day. I certainly understand that happens. It would have been nice to have known that Dr Ditto was running late “due to a couple of emergencies that had come up or in. ” I still would have waited but it would have been nice to know I may have to wait a little longer than my scheduled appointment time. I have no complaints re Dr Ditto, his assistants and the office staff. This review is only a suggestion.

I have been a patient of Dr. Music since my first pair of glasses over 40 years ago, he has treated both of my parents, my brothers and aunts and uncles, I am almost sad that my children have perfect vision. He is always so generous with his time, knowledgeable about new technology and treatments. He is a great doctor, and great person. As my eyes age and I have gotten a few dry eyes and things that are a little more complex I have been so happy to have him to learn about caring for my aging eyes as well.
