From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted by 2 smiling, cheerful people at the front desk and the process begins. You check in and then I waited 2 minutes before someone came for me and we started back for this initial appointment. Everything moved along quickly and everyone who was involved in my exam was professional, courteous and extremely helpful in sharing what was going on. Each situation is unique and I found them to be totally forthcoming with no pressure on the patient at all. I would be so happy to introduce family and friends to this wonderful clinic.

Staff friendly and efficient until we were ready to talk with person who would give us an estimate of our costs for different procedures, and apparently, that person was not available and person filling in, couldn't answer all our questions and thought the dr or tech would have done that already. Consequently, I will need to return with my spouse for scheduled recheck and have someone answer our questions at that time.

Dr. Chu has built a very professional & efficient practice, servicing the eye care needs of a wide spectrum of people. He is also a visionary, always on the cutting edge of new techniques & technologies. Through my own experience I can say he is a man of high character, who does not hesitate in doing the right thing for his patients. Dr. Heckman has also been wonderful to work with through my experiences there. I looked forward to all my visits since the staff is very friendly, responsive, well-trained & personable. My eye procedures are behind me now, with only a few follow-up visits to go, but I can honestly say I will miss going there after my last visit!

Chu Vision came highly recommended. I am happy to say they met and exceeded my expectation. Specifically, the staff is very friendly and professional. Also, each appointment never kept me waiting. So far, great results. It's only been two days since surgery on my second eye.

The doctors and their support staff were really good. The office staff leaves a lot to be desired. I left three messages for a surgery coordinator to call about rescheduling a surgery but have yet to hear back from them several days later. I called back immediately after my appointment to after it turned out I could do corrective vision surgery in 2 business days but that day has come and passed without a call.

Everyone was welcoming and offered to help me with the new kiosk located at the entrance. I was given a good bill of health and everyone took the time to answer my questions about my ongoing eye issue. Although he is going to be moving out of state, Doctor Davidson took the time out to come see me at the end of my appointment. Since 2000 Dr. Chu and staff have worked diligently and patiently to safeguard my precious sense of sight.

While generally satisfied with the surgery, really dissatisfied with unreimbursed cost of refractive cataract testing. Also the facility use charge is rediculous. I know many, many people who have had the surgery in various locations around the twin cities and no one has ever incurred these charges.

From the staff who greets you at the door to the assistants who take information or test your vision, you are treated like a friend whom everyone seems happy to see and are invested in making your visit a positive one. This warm welcome leads to your time with the doctor, in my case, Dr. Davis, who does whatever he can not only to try and alleviate the eye problem I am having, but he listens and does his best to prevent future problems. Going to other doctors should be as painless as it is when you go to Chu Vision. Dr. Davis I will miss your kindness and professionalism and wish you the best.

I have had tremendous trouble with dry eyes - to the point that I needed PTK in both eyes. The entire clinic is one of the most professional, attentive, customer-driven organizations that I know. They take the time with patients and clearly are leaders in the industry. Last week I had a contact bandage removed and still had issues through the day with the eye (I was worried about heading into a weekend with the level of discomfort I was feeling). I called Dr. Davis on chance at 5pm on a Friday and he told me to come in for a replacement bandage. This is concierge level service (on a Friday night as he was already headed home - he turned around and came back to the office). I can't say enough good things about Chu Vision - don't hesitate, you are in good hands with them.

Wonderful experience! I am naturally apprehensive and nervous when it comes to anything related to the field of medicine but my experience at Chu Vision Institute made my fears seam silly. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating, from the reception to the exam room. Being in such a warm and professional environment allowed me to relax and accurately relay the issues which have troubled me for years. The problem (allergy-related) was quickly assessed after an insightful exam and I left with a feeling of sweet relief. Had I known a visit to an eye clinic could be such a painless process, I would have visited their clinic years ago.

Every single aspect of CHU Vision Institute is five star or better. It's clear why my normal doctor chose to have her husbands vision corrected there. The place is clean. Only suggestion, and it is minor! there are few if any green teas to chose from, not being a coffee drinker, from which naturally there are several choices, and this is quite to be expected. However, a few green teas would be nice, those dark English Breakfast teas are high in caffeine.

The first eye doctor that met with me seemed so young and inexperienced as to leave me questioning (Dr. Watson), but then the next doctor who followed up seemed much more knowledgeable and take charge (Dr. Heckman). Finally, Dr. Chu was the most reassuring, and I think the fact he is going to do the actual procedure made me feel much more comfortable with my decision.

I did not appreciate being emailed AND texted to confirm the appointment. One or the other, not both please, the text messages were a little annoying. You may need to keep in mind that not everyone has free unlimited texting. Otherwise, the visit was exceptional. I was quite impressed with how big and beautiful the office is and how well it is run. Everything is very thorough and it is no wonder that Dr. Chu is so highly regarded and successful. I have always found the staff very friendly and professional. While Dr. Chu has obviously written many articles, I find that to have them on all the walls as very cluttering and would prefer to see them in notebooks where they could be read in the waiting room area. I have worked with over half the staff in the past year and I have nothing but positive comments for all the doctors, assistants, and yes even the financial staff.

I was disappointed that the facility wasn't full service and that I'd have to go elsewhere for lenses! I had been a prior patient of Dr Poland when he operated the clinic & was accustomed to having everything done inhouse. This arrangement seems odd to me. Kind of like buying a new car and then beng told after taking delivery you'd have to go elsewhere to get an engine for it.

I was told I would meet with Dr. Chu at the end of my appointment but did not. The procedure options were not very well introduced, nor were recommendations outlined. The cost was outlined, but payment options were not covered until I asked. I am a detailed person so like to know what details are being done with each step.

There was some confusion because I was the second person to be in the glaucoma/cataract study. (did not know this study was even available when I came in so a lot was thrown at me) Left the office after a long appointment with no appointment card for the next visit or instructions on my drops and for which eye. Luckily my wife wrote that down.

I have been dealing with vision problems for over a month, I was given eye drops and told to come back in a week. My regular eye doctor sent me here because my situation seemed out of the ordinary; I wasn't given that impression here. Time will tell if the drops will work, but so far no change.

I signed a lot of forms when arriving and didn't read them carefully but my appointment was handled by a student who still has a year of school left. It would have been appropriate for your staff to inquire if I had a problem with not being seen by a doctor. In my experience that is the proper way to handle the situation. I would have preferred a licensed doctor doing my examination and I don't have a lot of confidence in the results. I was also surprised to be charged $458.00 for an eye exam which costs half of that at other eye clinics where the exam is done by licensed doctors. If you are using a free student you shouldn't charge premium prices for your services. The appointment was overseen by a doctor who entered the room for less the 3 minutes and reviewed the health of my eyes but didn't participate in the process of determining a prescription.

Unfortuantely a very frustrating experience. My prior visit (1/3/14) was a contact fitting, and was told it would take about 10 days for the contacts to come in. After two weeks of not hearing anything, I called (1/17) and was told they would come in 1/22, so I scheduled my appt for 1/24. The contacts didn't improve my vision, so they have to be ordered again. When I asked if there was anything that could be done to get them in sooner than 3 weeks this time, the doctor essentially argued with me that it didn't take 3 weeks, the contacts were likely here, and it took me a while to schedule my appointment. Then we verified the details, and sure enough it was 3 weeks. Very poor experience to be treated that way with no apology. Even worse, the contacts were worse than what I currently have. I still question why you keep checking my eyes with my contacts in (both my current pair and the new pair you had me try, which was worse). I'm not looking forward to my next visit.

Yes, would I refer your clinic - absolutely!!!! I actually refer you to people before they have need of optical surgery so when it is required, they know where to go. I was very pleased with the service at Chu Vision. I felt like they had many more tests and ways to check into my dry eye than I had experienced at other clinics I've tried. They did an awesome job of explaining the treatment they recommended and why it is different that other things I've tried. I am excited to try the IPL treatment and hope to get the great results I've heard about.
