Front desk lady not overly welcoming. The. I lady (screening manager) that we started screening with was very impatient with my child. She was not a “kid” person and battled my strong-willed child. Next lady (grey/white hair) was very physical with my child trying to get him to sit still at a machine - pushing very aggressively against the back of his head and even throwing a light that he kept touching off the table. Doctor was very nice, but I feel like the evaluation was inconclusive due to the rude staff that were not patient with my child. By the time he met with the doctor he was frustrated and even more impatient. Doctor Winters was much more patient and friendly than staff. The lady we met with when checking out was the friendliest staff member- she was the first staff member to smile and genuinely act like she enjoyed her job. I hope the staff attitudes will improve before our next visit.

As a parent, there are many circumstances where we don't know what we don't know; this is a classic example. Being referred by a school counselor, my son was run through a battery of tests, whereby his problem areas were clearly identified. Now we're on to the improvement phase. I would have never found his deficiencies on my own. The right technology in the right hands -- CR Eye Care. :)

Every child should have the privilege of an eye exam with Dr Kara! She goes above and beyond in understanding the different issues with your child's vision - more than just do they have 20/20 vision. It's about how their vision is impacting their ability to learn. I finally felt I found a doctor that listens to the gut feel of the parent and is willing to create a plan that involves the whole child, not just "does he need glasses".

Dr. Kara is Landon's favorite doctor and he loves to go and see her. He has been a patient of hers for over 8 years. She is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and takes the time to make sure as parents we understand what is going on with his vision and what we can do to help. Landon would not be nearly as successful in school without the assistance from all the great people at Cedar Rapids Eye Center.

We are so impressed with he knowledge and expertise of the staff at Cedar Rapids Eye Care. Learning that our little one needed vision therapy was, at first, a little overwhelming, but Maria and Dr. Kara helped us to better understand the process and the benefits. We feel very fortunate to have been recommended to this office.
