Your office is very efficient and helpful

Good service a little difficult to get an appointment. Also there are no robes in the exam room you are asked to undress and wait 20 minutes exposed it is uncomfortable. I would recommend hospital gowns.

I asked about a mole that turns out not to be a problem but because it was right on my chest I asked to have it removed for $75. It would’ve been awfully nice if they had told me that I could’ve had 10 spots removed for 175.. When you have skin issues, it can sometimes feel like a nickel-and-diming experience. But I am new to this practice so can’t say that’s something they do regularly. I have no other complaints. Everyone has been very nice and seems right on top of their game.

Would not recommend this Practice, while the Doctors are ok, the staff is awful and we hate to use that word but there it is.Rude, hostile, unprofessional and just plain unfriendly. We left a similar 'Survey Review' and the next that happened was we got a letter stating "we will no longer treat you" -there it is, can you imagine a doctor who instead of apologizing for the bad experience, instead sends you a note saying "we cannot see you any longer"- WHO DOES THAT?! If you want to be treated well with kindness and respect where you spend your money- do not go here. This Practice was great when the Father had it- now the 3 children have it and are running it into the ground with really poor staff who are getting minimum wage probably. The poor staff and their treatment of us far outweighs the doctors and we are leaving this Practice.Doctors who wont take the time and money to hire good folks who are kind and friendly are out for us..

I’m very unhappy that a PA removed my mole as well as the outcome of the surgery. I made my appointment with the doctor and never saw him even once. —unacceptable. I’ve had 20+ moles removed in my life and I have never felt so much pressure to have a surgery in the moment. It already looks like the site where the mole was removed will scar. While I understand the mole was suspicious, if each mole I’ve had was removed like this I would have a large number of scars. I’m very unhappy Overall I didn’t want the mole removed in the moment and I’m not happy with how it was handled at all.

Great practice, depending on who you see. I used to see Dr. Coyne and she was wonderful. This time I needed to get in for a skin concern before the holiday and they fit me in with the PA Joe Hudson. I was happy to be seen but he was cold, in a rush and seemed annoyed. I had a small area of skin that needed to be removed and he did a good job. I think bedside manner could be improved.

I arrived very (hours) early for my appointment because my got out of an earlier appointment and had no place else to be. The took me in right away because they had time to do so, they did a thorough skin examination, and went beyond by prescribing medication that would head off a skin problem that I mentioned in passing as well as medication to help a current skin condition subside. Great attention and care!

I strongly suggest that you provide patients with better and more complete information about what you have done to protect them and your staff against Covid infection. I was in the examining/operating room over 4 hours, a long time in a small space in close contact with three others. Might you have provided me a plastic full face protectant I could wear except during surgery? Did you have any special ventilation system operating and if so, what was it? Did you have regular staff training in how best to protect everyone in your office space? The patients were left on their own, so far as I could tell, to assume that cleaning procedures are frequent and rigorous and that patients as well as staff were expected to follow protocols.

Doctor and her assistant were great, support staff were terrible. I was repeatedly blamed for not filling out any forms even though I asked (once at sign in and once at check out) if there was anything else they needed for me and they'd scanned my insurance card + license. I received multiple calls during work days telling me about deadlines I had to hit and when I finally took time outside of the time off I had already scheduled for the appointment to complete the forms, they were forms the office could have easily filled out with the information asked during the visit or provided to book the appointment. As an oversight this would have been totally fine, but the fact that I was treated like this was some stupid thing I had done to them rather than an honest mistake on their part was really bad.

I had my first of what will likely be 5 sessions. Unfortunately, was not told I had to arrive one hour early for freezing, so I had to rearrange my afternoon work schedule. I started visiting Braun Dermatology around 2005 when I was working down town near the F Street office. I have continued to go there every year for an annual check (following Mohs surgery in 2007 and again in 2012). I tried another dermatologist closer to home after I retired, but was not happy because the inspection was perfunctory. I am based in DC, but not from the area. I had to see a dermatologist, and Braun Dermatology made my appointment easy and effortless. They got me in immediately (even during these Covid-19 times) and it ran smoothly and efficiently. Dr Alicia Braun saw me, and within a few minutes had made my diagnosis and gave me detailed and useful information to treat my skin. She made me feel comfortable and urged me to follow up if I needed additional treatment or if I had problems. It's unusual to click well with doctors upon first meeting, but she was outstanding and set me at ease immediately. I would highly recommend her, and the practice, if you are in need of dermatology care.

Had to get a large nasal cell off neck this week. I’ve had several over my adult life, and had at least 5 different Doctors as moved or insurance change. Friends had highly recommended Dr. Martin Braun. He and his assistant Roger are the best I’ve had perform any dermatology procedure. With every step of the procedure you can tell how careful they are. Great “bedside” manner as well: warm, respectful, listens and answers, and even good wit and humor at the right moments.

I had a corn cut down on Tuesday afternoon, and used small corn pads starting that evening but the hole filled with hard skin almost immediately (by Thursday morning) even with the recommended use of the corn pads. I will now get medicated corn pads and do it the slow way. I was glad to get the diagnosis but the treatment this time was for nothing, unfortunately.

It would be very helpful, however, if you would put your patients in an examination room as quickly as possible rather than have them sit outside in the waiting room. My experience of Braun Dermatology has been colored by its failure to respond to questions I put to the office this week. On the morning of June 8, I had surgery in the F Street office. On the morning of June 10, I called the office with questions about how I should be caring for the wound, which had begun to bleed. I was told that there was no one then in the office who could answer my questions, but that someone who could answer would call be back. It's now the morning of June 12, and I'm still waiting for the phone call.

I have been going to Braun for about a year. The staff have always been welcoming and efficient. I was referred to Braun for a suspicious spot on my arm. Joe Hudson assessed the spot, biopsied it and persoanally called me with the results. He handled the situation with compassion. I now return for quarterly full skin exams. Joe is always careful, professional and compassionate during the exams. My most recent visit the practice had new safety measures in place in response to Covid-19. I felt safe and that the practice was following safety guidance with the proper level of respect for both patients and staff.

Caring, timely, full explanations of procedures and follow up. I honestly can’t think of anything that could have been done better or more professional. Every aspect of my appointment and surgery reinforced my perception that I was in 100% capable hands. If additional basal cell cancers appear in the future, I will certainly return to the Braun practice for follow-up care. This visit was for the removal of a basal cell cancer on my face close to my nose and I. Now even just 48 hours later, I am very pleased with the results already.

I was in to see Joseph Hudson on Thursday afternoon. It was a 1:00 PM appointment, and there was only one person in the waiting room. I said, "I guess it's a good thing to get here right when you come back from lunch. There's no one here." The receptionist agreed, and said there were also no surgeries that day, so there were fewer patients waiting. I was taken to an examining room almost immediately, and I sat there and waited until 1:31 PM. When the doctor came in, I said, "Why have I been waiting for half an hour?" He actually looked offended that I had called him out on it. He did not apologize. I was there to see about a rash and scaly skin on both my knees, near the sites of two recent knee replacements (one 5 months ago, the other 2 months ago). Dr. Hudson's first question was whether I'd been crawling, or doing something abrasive to my knees. I thought it an odd question, because just after a knee replacement, most folks will do pretty much anything to avoid damaging their knees. He asked several equally inane questions, took a scraping, and then prescribed a cream of some kind (which, btw, seems to be working.) Every experience I've had at Braun has been excellent. Staff has been friendly, helpful, respectful, and knowledgeable. This was the very opposite of my past experiences. I realize this person is very young, but he should really be trained in patient interaction before he's allowed to fly solo.

As with other providers this practice seems to have a policy of have a technican/observer in the room with the doctor. This is more relevant for full-body checks. I may have gained the trust of the doctor, but she has dispensed with this third party. It doesn't hurt of ask if it makes you more comfortable. I really love Gina Coons and think she is one of the most skilled individuals in DC at botox. However over the several years I've been seeing her I've had so many problems with Braun Dermatology's billing department that I cannot in good faith recommend Braun to anyone. These have included ridiculous additional charges if I'm in seeing her for a cosmetic procedure and she prescribes me something for acne, failure of the staff to properly bill me at the conclusion such that I receive additional bills later on, being told by billing staff that I've paid my entire bill (after I ask) and then receiving collection calls for $50, and so forth. The additional charges for acne prescriptions are particularly ridiculous because they stem from a co-pay, meaning even though I'm in the office for injections, paying $1300 out of pocket for the privilege, my insurance is receiving a separate charge for an acne visit because Gina refills one of my prescriptions. In my world, that would be deemed in appropriate double billing. Even this last visit, I had prepaid $500 for ultherapy but when I checked out the individual at the front desk tried to charge me the entire amount for the procedure and would have had I not caught it. Apparently the deposit was mislabeled in the system so it didn't show up. All of these little things are frustrating and are not the level of customer service I expect when I'm paying $1000+ for services every couple of months. If Gina was not so amazing at what she does, I would have long since found another doctor.

Prescription for antibiotics was not sent to my pharmacy. The procedure was done on a Friday, and when I checked with the pharmacy on Saturday morning, they told me that no prescription had been received. I then called the office which was closed, and the line to reach an alternative provider was not operational. That means that I was not able to take the antibiotics for first three of the five days I was supposed to take them.
