Amelia examined my full body for skin problems. Amelia is very thorough and I was very happy with her exam. She is very professional and I enjoyed her great communication skills. I have been a patient of Dr Batra’s for many years. She has removed multiple skin cancers via Moh’s surgery and I have always felt so comfortable with her. I also see Amelia Mittelman, the nurse practitioner, for routine skin checks and other cosmetic treatments. Both Dr Batra and Amelia are competent and kind. Dermatology is not always “cut and dried” and Dr Batra and Amelia have worked with me to answer my questions and make the best decisions on how and when to proceed. I had my first skin cancer (melanoma) 40 years ago and struggled to find a good Derm doctor. Now that I have found this office, I am their patient forever.

I want to stress that it is not the specific doctor's fault that treated me, HOWEVER, your office has a horrible track record for many years of scheduling for a certain time and then keeping me waiting for 35-45 minutes. Then I'm told "you know, that's how doctors' offices are." NO, that's how your office is. Others are more considerate of people's time.

This is the second time I have had my skin checked. In the past 6 months by the assistant. Both times she hardly touched my skin and didn’t do my scalp at all. Just the edge of my hair line. I even told her I had concerns there. ( I’m sorry I can’t remember her name). She ordered me a cream and told me to put on my spots. How do I know what spots are precancerous? How do I know how much. And for how long. I have over 20 places on my face that I think need to be used by the cream, but if I’m only doing a section at a time, will I even finish before my next appointment? Also being a red head with fair skin, and with two major removals I would think I should have had a more detail scan. I was in and out in 10 min including getting dressed. Put it this way. I was 10 min early for my appointment and I only paid 7.50 for parking. Lol. My colleague just walked in and I told her the story and she said I go to Batra too and I know which assistant you are talking about. I have the same concerns. This is a problem if many people experience the same things and nothing changes I might have to start looking elsewhere. Although Dr Batra is my absolute favorite dr. I would be so sad to leave. But I can’t see the assistant anymore, please. One more thing. How can I have so much damage and not have her burn anything off anywhere on my body? I am a red head with fair skin and freckles. although I like the clinic I was shocked to find out after my daughter was sitting in the chair that you DOUBLED your extraction costs from $200 ( the last time I was there )to $400 a procedure that took approx 7 minutes if that. The next day Jessica broke out with many more large pimples which we know sometimes happens but I mean REALLY $400 dollars - it was a shock and at that point I felt that the extractions were necessary so we did it but I have to say I don't understand the exorbitant fee it was disheartening as a patient.

I had an overall body scan appointment. I told the nurse who brought me to the exam room I had an itchy skin condition on my arms, a wart on my finger that won't go away, and there's a red mark on my face that won't go away. The practitioner who examined me did not ask me about any of these items. I had to ask her about these issues as she was walking out the door of my appointment (and I was incomplete in how I discussed them, because again, this was an afterthought as she was walking out the door). The blemish on my face was an afterthought too -- she wasn't going to pay any attention to it, but then upon *second thought* decided to schedule a biopsy. But this happened as she was getting ready to leave the exam room. This exam was conducted without adequate attention or care. It felt rushed, like she needed to be done with me as soon as possible. I don't feel like the office cares about me, only about getting me in and out.

When I first called to make a appointment, I asked if they accepted my insurance. Imagine my surprise after my visit, of a charge of $195. Normally, it’s a $20 co pay. The woman explained to me that I hadn’t met my deductible & that was what was owed. I know how my insurance works & this was not something that had ever occurred with other providers. So, they lied to me when I first called & at the day of appointment they didn’t inform me that they don’t have a contract with my insurance so there would be a fee due. Very dishonest practice. Extremely disappointed, that they are not running a honest practice. Not sure what to expect from a dr who’s pride is Growing up Brentwood & Hollywood dr. I will never return. Worst office personal , with dishonest practices.

Dear Batra, Loved your Physician's Assistant. She was kind, knowledgeable, professional, efficient as was her assistant. What I didn't love was that when I arrived, there was no parking available, no street parking AND no suggestions where I might find parking elsewhere. I even called ahead to get a sense of the parking situation. Had I known it was limited, I would have allowed additional time. It would be helpful if you gave your patients a heads up that parking might be challenging and had a handout with other parking suggestions and approximate costs. As a result I would hesitate to recommend your practice to my friends, many of whom are my age (74) and older.

Dr. Sonia Batra has been treating me for many years for my ahornic skin cancer. She has impeccable credentials, including a Rhodes Scholarship, as well a perfect score om the SAT exam. She was born in the States and is of Punjabi decent. My wife is a "Sindhi wali" born in Mumbai and like Dr. Batra has excelled in our mutual profession as attorneys at law. Dr. Batra has treated my cronic skin for many years. she graduated validictorin of her high school. Was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxrord where she receive two mastes degrees before entering Stanford Medical School. She is a Diplomate in dermitology. (Diplomates of the American Board of Dermatology have passed the certification examination of the ABD following completion of four years of training: one year of approved postgraduate training plus three years of ACGME or RCPSC-accredited dermatology residency training.) Besides all those credentials, she is friendly and engaging demonstrating great "people skills" With that said I would and will recommend Dr. Sonia Batra to anyone seeking a dermotologist.
