I have been a patient since 1985 and not one time have I had a less than fantastic visit/treatment/service. The entire staff is professional, caring, courteous and fun. We moved from Austin to Georgetown and I would never consider finding a dentist/dental clinic closer to home. The 80+ mile round-trip is well worth it. My husband switched to Balcones Dental when we move... leaving the dental clinic he had be going to since 1979. We both are very satisfied "customers."

I have had nothing but superlative care at Balcones Dental, for both routine and more extensive care. Every single person who works there is warm and friendly and makes you feel at home. One week ago I had an accident during which I lost a front tooth and they fit me in immediately and even stayed late on a Friday just for me. This is Sam's husband. I do not receive these reminders, or reviews, however, Dr. Larry Lindsay, DDS, is the absolute best of the best, with respect to the arts of dentistry, and dental implants. Dr. Lindsay is the consummate instructor, teacher, and the complete dental provider for anyone fortunate enough to cross his Balcones Dental path. In my brief existence of 66 years of life, I have NEVER CROSSED PATHS with another dental operator who is more competent, proficient, patient, compassionate, and absolutely professional and thorough. Dr. Larry Lindsay, to me, is the special operations professional in the world of dentistry. Dr. Lindsay, in my opinion, is again, at the risk of being repetitive, the best of the best, and any human being fortunate enough to cross his path, will not only receive outstanding dental care, but will meet an extraordinary person and a new friend. I was so taken back by their professionalism ,, support , and kindness. I am in Austin to babysit my granddaughter and I broke a tooth in half. I was really upset hurting and not knowing what I had in store for me. I have told my family it’s the best experience I ever had at a dentist office , that is saying a lot - right . Heard about Balcones Dental on KOKE radio and was looking for a dentist in Austin since that was where I worked. Everyone there is so nice and knowledgeable that I felt comfortable each time I went. Even recommended the to our daughter and grandsons. Now that I have retired, I will not change dentists.

I have a genuine fear of dentists which started many many years ago as a 4 or 5 year old. That said, I've listened to way too many commercials on Koke FM. Folks like Bob Cole, Scotty Bennett, Troy Kimmell and Rita Ballou who said how wonderful you all were and talked about folks like me and why we/I should trust you guys. So I made an appointment and was not let down. Y'all are wonderful! From Lisa and Chris to Shelly and Michelle, to a few other folks who I cannot remember their names, you could not have made me feel more comfortable. I know I have a long way to go before I reach where I want my mouth to be but I have trust that you guys will get me there. Thank you!

It's been a long time since I've been to a dental office, my anxiety stemming from a bad experience. So, my husband ensured me, as he is a long time patient, that they are the best crew. They are not judgmental, and highly concerned about pain control with our dental choices. I am convinced and very satisfied with my first session. The treatment plan suggested is thoroughly explained. Dr. Johnson is great with his explanations and the staff are all very professional in explaining any detail. Amy did my first deep cleaning and I have to admit with gas and Valium to ease my nerves, she made the experience enjoyable. She was gentle and thorough with the process, and constantly checked in to see how I was holding up. Afterwards, she explained what she did and checked out her work which I very much appreciated. Fantastic! I have to add that I brought my earbuds to listen to music which definitely helped drown out any high pitch drilling and just added to the calm feeling of the whole experience. I highly recommend Balcones Dental.

Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor were extremely nice and helpful. They made sure I was comfortable and did not experience any pain. They explained everything they were going to be doing thoroughly and constantly made sure I was okay through the entire procedure.

This is the best dental office, ever! They are a caring group. The dentist worked with me to schedule my treatments so I could use my insurance to pay for all the treatments I needed. I was pretty overwhelmed with the list of things I needed to do. My teeth are old and have old fillings. I'll keep going here until they kick me out! Also, Dr. Lindsey plays some very cool and classic CDs :)

I never thought I'd say it, but I love my dentist. The staff at Balcones Dental are always friendly and relaxed, and that feeling carries over to the patients. My most recent hygienist was Amy, who did a wonderful job, but I have never had a bad one. All the dentists are nice and calm, too. It's really a great place with great patient care. Highly recommended!

I have known Dr. Lindsay now for about 6 yrs and have always had a great experience when visiting his office. I am now doing the implant process on 4 teeth and everything so far has been exactly as described. OK, maybe not fun, but Dr. Lindsay and his staff are extremely professional. I actually flying regularly from Santa Barbara, CA. to Austin to have the implant procedure done. I trust him & his staff and at 64, I would rate Balcones Dental as the best dentist I have experienced.

I recently broke a tooth on a Friday evening and was able to get an appointment the following Monday morning. Had I known, I could have seen them on Saturday. Dr. Bailey is so good at what he does. You don't even feel the Novocaine needle going in and he has great agile hands to get in those tiny hard to reach spots in the back of your mouth. I recommend Balcones Dental to all my friends!

Have been going to Dr. Lindsay since 1985 and continue to do so even tho we moved to Georgetown 4 years ago. My husband's Austin dentist retired and now he is one of Dr. Lindsay's patient. Jamie has been cleaning my teeth for years and she is fabulous! On my recent visit, she found a cavity. Because Dr. Lindsay was putting in 2 dental implants for my husband, Jamie asked if I minded if the new dentist, Dr. Bailey, tended to my cavity. Dr. Bailey was fantastic. So was assistant Melisa. Never felt the Novocain injection. Veneer was never touched. Filling went in perfectly... no adjustment was needed. I highly recommend Balcones Dental!

This is the only dental office I have ever felt confident in. I have been going to dentists since I was 2 1/2 years old. The first dentist strapped me to the chair and made my mom leave the room. I am so glad I heard about Balcones Dental, and chose to make an appointment. I haven't been to a dentist in at least 8 years due to being nervous and ashamed of my teeth. In just one appointment at with De. Lindsay, my fear and shame have completely vanished. My teeth are already looking great...deep cleaning made a world of difference and I no longer have to hide my bottom teeth! Thank you, Balcones Dental!

The new dentist -- I'm sorry, I've forgotten his name -- did my filling this week. The work was solid and the end result is holding up, but, I'll be honest, his bedside manner could use some tweaking. I let him keep working because I was confident Dr. Lindsay wouldn't have anyone bad on his staff, but there were moments when he was talking to his assistant and comparing notes on how exactly the procedure should go and whether they had the right tools... that gave me pause. Don't get me wrong -- I'd rather someone double check their work! I'm an engineer, and I know there's a balance to strike between having it all in your head and checking the references. Having said that, as a patient, it would be nice if such conversations were a bit more out of earshot instead of just outside the operating cubicle. There's no doors! :-) But he did an excellent job "sign posting" -- telling me what to expect and that there might be changes depending on what he uncovered. Going for a less-invasive (and thus less expensive) procedure (only a filling instead of a root canal) was one of the things that first made me like Dr. Lindsay compared to other dentists I had visited. I liked that this new doctor followed that same conservative pattern.

I was not sure what to expect visiting Balcones Dental for the first time. I have had rather poor and anxiety-inducing dental visits in the past, and am grateful to say that my fears were understood and handled gently throughout my visit. I had to get a deep cleaning, and despite the obvious discomfort of the procedure, I felt taken care of and my questions or concerns answered without making me feel stupid for asking. I will be returning to checkup on my procedure, and to take care of some cavities - I feel fully comfortable knowing that when I return I will be treated with the same courtesy and kindness.

I'll be honest--I haven't visited the dentist in years and was having a minor freak out about my appointment. I was so scared not only that the procedure would hurt, but that I might be made fun of or ridiculed or just made to feel kinda dumb for having waited so long to visit the dentist. I can so happily say that that is not the case at Balcones! The minute I walked in the door I was feeling comfortable. The front desk staff was kind and courteous (they even came to grab my paperwork from me as opposed to me bring it to them--talk about customer service!), and from that moment on it only got better. I was talked to so warmly and non-judgementally the entire time. All my questions were answered (most of the time without me even having to ask!) and I was comforted about my anxiety. I can't truly tell anyone how much their hospitality and gentleness made my visit. It really stuck with me with Dr. Lindsay looked at me and said that they weren't there to judge me for the state of my teeth or how they got to be that way, they were just there to help me fix them. I had such a great experience and have been bragging about this office to everyone who will listen. I was so scared walking in there and they acknowledged that and helped me. I had my first appointment with Balcones Dental and I have got to say that this was THE best dentist appointment I have EVER had! I love the people there! Dr. Lindsay and Dr. Cantu are fabulous doctors and everyone on staff are truly caring individuals; not that fake crap. I had to have a tooth extraction and Balcones Dental actually did everything they could to work with me on making payment since I did not have insurance at the time of my extraction. That is a lot more than I can say about the other dentists I had gone to for this extraction, including one Oral Surgeon who shall remain nameless. Not one of those other dentists would even lift a finger to try and work with me. Yep, I have finally found my dentist that I will continue to go to for the rest of my life! Thank you so much guys! Dental visits are not usually a happy or pleasant visit. You get bad news, there's pain involved, pressure to get work done, etc... My visit at Balcones Dental was none of the above. The staff was super friendly and professional, there was no pressure to "do more", there was no pain involved...in any way. I just found a new dentist and glad I went!

Best dental practice ever! I've been going here for at least the last 7 years and never have had a bad experience. Jamie is always my dental hygienist and is the ABSOLUTE BEST! LOVE her! The front desk staff are wonderful and always so welcoming as is the practice manager. I always look forward to my dental visits, which I cant say about any other practice ive been to by a long shot. Hands down the most amazing dental office! I was very nervous going to the dentist and had put it off for too long. I believe that if I had been to this office before, I would not have delayed seeking the treatment and preventative care that I needed. I can't say enough nice things about this office. It was a pleasure from talking to Ashley in the office to having my teeth cleaned by Michelle and finally to having my extractions done by Dr. Cantu. Every single person in this office was fantastic. They made me feel completely comfortable! I was so relaxed and entertained by this staff that I will never go to another dentist!

Excellent staff. Clean and relaxing office. I had not been to the dentist in quite a while and they put me at ease. Could not have asked for more with my cleaning and general experience. The staff did not seem rushed or eager to suggest unneeded procedures. A couple specifics: the plaque scraper with a built-in water mister is awesome! I also really like how the dentist gives you his full exam prior to the cleaning rather than after.

My visit was due to my "grow stud" for my implant came out. My understanding was that this device was permanent and an implant could be attached. Now I have nothing to attach an implant. I feel like I spent $2200 for an extraction.

I have been going to Dr. Lindsay for about 20 years now. I can't imagine going to any other dentist. From my very first visit I felt comfortable, that my business was appreciated, and that I was in the most professional and caring hands for my dental needs. Over the years Dr. Lindsay learned to place implants so he's done a couple of those for me and It was less expensive than the dentist who did my first two implants. The staff of Balcones Dental has always been warm and friendly yet professional and are obviously highly competent in their jobs. Last but not least, their prices are extremely reasonable. They are not the most expensive nor the cheapest dental office in town but for the quality of care they provide it is a bargain! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Lindsay and his staff and Dr. Cantu is nice and seems very competent as well. I would give them 10 stars if it were an option!

When I arrive for my appointments, I am greeted with an enthusiastic smile and "good morning" from each staff. I am seen promptly at the time we scheduled and the service is un parrellel to any other I've had. The work that is done, is done with care and precision. I'm never rushed out or left hurting with an incomplete procedure. After all said and done the financials are printed out for you to see step by step what you are passing for. I love the monthly specials that they have. Never seen anything like that at a dental office. Balcones dental absolutely shines brighter than any other!

I have been looking for a dental practice for a long time. I found what I was looking for at Balcones Dental. Great friendly staff, Dr.Lindsay and Dr. Cantu are wonderful. I was able to schedule an appointment right away. During my procedure they make sure I was comfortable. Every member of the staff that I interacted with were more than nice. They were accommodating and helpful, and most of all, understanding of the immense amount of pain I was in for an abscess tooth. Dr. Lindsey was informative, polite, and quick which I was unappreciated most. You could tell he was very busy but when came into the room to walk through the situation with me, you could tell he had places to be but didn't rush through my consultation. Again, quick and helpful- that's what I needed. I will definitely be back to take care of this tooth and to eventually take care of their awesome, in house plan for non insured patients.

All of your staff were kind and caring. With no appointment, i just called at 7:30am and and explained me emergency and they said come on down and I'm not a patient. They took x rays and gave me my options and had to refer me to an oral surgeon who performed what needed to be done that day. Great experience!

I came in to just discuss options for a broken tooth and payment options. I ended up being seen right then and having all my questions answered about options and payments. I was greeted by Lisa at the front desk, and she was very nice. Caroline took care of all of my concerns about the options, and did a great job of explaining the procedures. Ashlee helped go over the payment options for the procedure. She made it very easy to understand, and was very helpful. We then decided to start the process right then, and I went back to Caroline to make the impressions needed. Dr. Larry Lindsay was very reassuring and obviously cares about his patients. I've been with Dr. Lindsay for I think 8 years now. Generally I have had a great experience (though I could have done without every word out of the receptionist's mouth to be "Sweetheart"). Really liked the hygienists and their service, but I've now had several disappointing visits that have caused me to reconsider my options. My last visit was rescheduled twice while I was already enroute to the office for the visit, so when I went in for the third try, I expected Dr. lindsay to actually take part in my care. I have a crown on my central incisor (top front tooth) and it had become discolored along the top. Dr. Lindsay said at a previous visit that he could very easily scrape it down and apply a composite, which he did, and it was the single most painful dental experience of my life (and I've had a ton of dental work). His assistant asked if he though they should numb the gum before scraping it up and away from the tooth and he advised against it. My mouth was sore for a week. After that visit, a line appeared across the crown where he had applied the composite that made it look as if the tooth were cracked. he offered to replace the crown (which I was very happy with for 6 years) for free and I accepted. When i came in to have the crown seated, Dr. Lindsay and his assistant were not there, so Dr. Cantu performed the seating. The tooth looked okay color/opaqueness wise in the office, but once I exited I realized that it was entirely too white and definitely too opaque. I realize that it is very difficult to match one front crown to your other teeth, but it had been done before. And perhaps if Dr. Lindsay had cared to do it himself he would have noticed since he was the one who called for it in the first place. In any case, long story short, I went in to discuss the problem with the tooth and I was met with a very curt "well, all we can do is do it again." When I asked if they stilled used the dental lab in town that created my last (perfect) crown, I was told that they did not. I asked what my options were and was basically told that I didn't have any. Dr. Lindsay did not even come in to inspect, even though the appointment had been scheduled around his arrival time. I left the office and decided that I would be willing to pay to have the crown done by a different dentist in town who uses an Austin-based lab because, while it may not mean a lot to Balcones Dental, it is my front tooth and it is large and I smile a lot, so it's important to me that it be right, not just good enough. I asked that my dental records be emailed to me so that I could take them to another dentist, and even that was not done correctly. Basically exhausted with the whole experience.

Since being involved in a particularly traumatic event at a dentist's office in the past (the light fell out of the ceiling and broke my hand), I have been very anxious about going to the dentist. I have avoided even routine cleanings due to fear. Ever since then, I have had numerous services done by Dr. Lindsay's team of fine very caring and friendly people! Dr. Lindsay's number one concern for you is that you are in no pain during his treatment. He clearly understands that what you go through as a patient is scary for some people or it's just not the most fun thing....he fixes you quickly and he will not let you leave unless you are happy. He has hired the best and most fun staff I have ever scene in any Doctor's office! They are always upbeat and treat you like a best friend. Lastly, they have always worked with me, in some way, if I were short on funds. A highly recommended place to have any dental work done!!

Why didn't we make the change long ago and come here. We've been missing out. From the moment you call the staff is very kind but it dosent end there, when you walk in the receptionist is very kind, the hygienist is kind, the dentist is kind. Everyone had a smile. It just felt like they must all get treated excellent as employees and in return it reflects on how they treat their customers. I would highly recommend this place.

The entire staff was fantastic! I came for a second opinion for the removal of my wisdom teeth and they were incredible! The cost of having my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lindsay was less than half of what the oral surgeon I was referred to had quoted me. They explained from the beginning that they would do the best they can but they might have to refer me out to an oral surgeon as well but once they looked at my x-rays they were able to determine that they could perform the surgery for me. Everyone took the time to explain the details to me and answered all of my questions thoroughly. My visit ran longer than expected because they had to do extra x-rays and they seemed to be very busy, but they apologized for the wait multiple times bad offered me refreshments. Dr. Lindsay, the lead hygienist, and Lisa, who I believe is the admin coordinator, were all very nice, incredibly personable and left me feelif comfortable and confident in their hands.

Dr Lindsay is very helpful, kind, and gentle. I highly recommend him for someone who is afraid of going to the dentist. He is very knowledgeable and takes time to explain any procedures that may need to be done, as well as listening to any concerns are fears. His staff is fabulous very organized, helpful and friendly. I am someone who is affraid of the dentist, and Balcones Dental was wonderful. My helpful nurse and their office manager both treated me like I was their own daughter, and made me completely comfortable. They didn't try to upsell me anything, and I do not feel at all ripped off about the dental procedures that I have to get. They did a wonderful job explaining everything to me, and they even followed up the next day to make sure I was feeling okay after my cleaning and that I didn't develop any questions. I highly recommend Balcones Dental.

I was a new patient and the office staff greeted me and was very pleasant. I was talked through my procedures, everything was explained to me thoroughly, and any questions I had were answered. The dental hygienist was so kind and explained to be what would be done was very gentle. I have no complaints. Dr. Lindsay was professional and explained to me all I need to know about the health of my teeth. I have already recommended my friends and family members to this practice. They are all very professional.

Not happy with not having the option to have lower teeth removed and getting a full lower denture WITHOUT the bone grafting material. I was told that Dr. Cantu would not do it without the bone grafting material, even though it is not a permanent solution and I will eventually lose more bone anyway. My cost for this procedure would be over $1700. When I came for my appointment at Balcones, I brought an estimate from my former dentist that did not include the bone grafting material; my part of that estimate was slightly under $700. I am a retiree, working part time temporary, so the estimate I received from Balcones puts having the work done there completely out of reach. I will probably have to have it done by my former dentist.

I had a very scary accident which shattered three teeth and lacerated my tongue. Dr. Lindsay and staff saw me immediately (even though I was a new patient) and took care of me beyond my expectations. They have won a very loyal patient forever!
