Dr. Matt and his staff helped me in what had become a very stressful situation. I had another highly rated, experienced dentist in Austin perform a crown operation in which the resulting crown was obviously incorrectly fit. The result was that after waiting nearly a month with a temporary crown in, I had to go through the entire process again. I nearly went through with it when I found Dr. Matt. His office is not only conveniently located downtown, near where I work and live, but I was amazed to find his office has technology decades more advanced than any dentist office I've ever visited – and I've seen some fancy dental offices in San Francisco and New York. Dr. Matt is literally helping push the forefront of dental technology, and doing so in a way that makes your life better. Instead of having to wait a month for a new crown to be made, I entered his office and left with a new crown made before my very eyes by a CNC machine that milled the crown out of a block of porcelain matched to the color of my surrounding teeth. The tools he had available also caught a small well that had formed in the gum next to my prepped tooth that no other dentist could have possibly seen with their naked eye. Dr. Mott and his office aren't just the safest, smartest bet to keep your smile healthy. They also run an amicable and approachable office. Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful. I will recommend them to all my friends and recommend they bring their entire families. Thank you Dr. Matt, and the Authentic Smiles team.

Authentic Smiles has been my dentist office since I moved to Austin in 2015 and I have no reason to look elsewhere. Between the convenience of being able to walk from my office and the laid back atmosphere, Its a no-brainer. Krystal the dental hygienist is nice, thorough and honest. I never have to wait long and the office is always clean. Dr. Matt always has good music playing too, which is a plus. I highly recommend.

I have severe anxiety with dental visits. Dr. Matt and his staff are very understanding and patient with me, and they offer NuCalm (an alternative, drug-free sedative) that has worked well for me. They also work with CareCredit. I would highly recommend them.

Authentic Smiles is as good as it gets when it comes to dental services. I really enjoy the music-themed decor but most importantly I enjoy the interactions with the staff. Everyone is very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. Their office is conveniently located downtown and is easy to get to. Amazing service and a rockin' atmosphere! I had a wonderful experience at Authentic Smiles. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! The cleaning was impeccable. They worked hard to make sure I was comfortable and they were extremely thorough with xrays and photographs. Authentic Smiles is a Family... a family that is extremely warm and welcoming. I literally had the most AMAZING experience and left feeling assured that these people GENUINELY CARE!!! The office decor was incredible... with a vintage Rock/Blues scene of Austin, as well as having the latest technology and equipment. My Hygienist "Crystal" was so thorough and gentle. She explained everything and was very considerate while making my treatment plan. I have to say that my most favorite part was the full tour I was given by Ms. Eden (Dr. Matts 9 year old daughter). I walked out with my delicious cup of vanilla flavored coffee that Mia made for me, and rather than walking away feeling overwhelmed... I felt excited and hopeful!!!

The change in insurance (i have to pay deductible now, even though you submit for payment, so with no change I now pay $50 more year to see you) and the change in policy on hours that makes it more difficult for me to schedule around my work are worth repeating as things going in the opposite direction of customer service.

I think Auth Sm is a proactive, aggressive dental practice. I now understd more why my older (more experienced?? wiser??) dentists weren't so progressive. When does a cavity need filled? When does a filling or a cap need replaced? When does a food trap that a customer (me) complains about need fixed? I thought my other dentists weren't giving me good customer serv by not addressing my wishes (fix my food trap please!) and not being proactive (why does one Auth Sm find all kinds off issues to fix and the others didn't?).... but were others in fact giving me good service by using the 'if it's not broken, don't fix it' philosophy? I ask these ques because since my proactive work has been done (and more promised I won't do), I have exp'd lots of pain after. I think an endo is in my future now and I think it's bc we've been progressive on teeth already with fractures. I'm using home remedies to relieve pain. Good job but I suggest more explanation to clients of risks & remedies.

My hygienist was good, forgot her name. Thepaying up front thing will cause me to find a new dentist. I'm not sure if this si somethign that the dental industry is going to but I have never had to pay before. This is extremely inconvenient for me. I am a student and at no time do I have an extra $90 to part with, even if it is temporarily.

My financial options were explained to me, but were not explained and communicated as well as everything else during my visit. Assumptions were made that I inherently understood what the proposed plan and what the costs associated with would be. I had to stop and ask many basic questions of what I was looking at, while the person explaining glossed over or simply ignored some possible issues or options. Other than that, my visit went very well. Very much liked the posters on the wall, more of that art would be useful to look at, especially during long visits. Perhaps music of headphones, so the patient can zone out would be useful as well.

Have water with no ice as much as possible.. Cold water is good for some, but for most coming in from the heat it can be a jolt so to speak..especially as we get older.

John is great, very attentive and also very handsome. Beth always is a pleasure to be around and very easy to talk to. Dr. Matt always has a smile on his face. You can tell he really loves his job. I love going to my dentist!

my only gripe, if i can call it that, is that the change in billing policy is not mentioned until AFTER the work is done. i highly disapprove of being bill fully, then having to wait to be reimbursed. considering that i have some major work to be done in the coming months, i am not entirely thrilled to know that i have to pay fully up front for the services. i know of no other office that operates like this on my insurance plan. again, fair enough, but the saving the tell until after the fact feels tactless to me. as far as i can tell, i received no email update regarding this change in policy. i most certainly value my dental health, and appreciate the work done here. overall, i can hardly complain about anything else here. everyone in this office are some of the nicest people i've encountered. i am just a bit dismayed that this key bit of info was held back until it was time to leave.

I used to have a bit of fear when having to visit the dentist. Now I look forward to it (almost) because of Beth, my hygienist. She is extremely gentle, thorough, and a pleasure to be around. Dr. Matt is the same way. Always concerned about your comfort. Everyone at Authentic Smiles has always been considerate and helpful. I recommend this office whenever I hear of anyone needing any dental work.

I'm just a little anxious about the potential remedy w/ the orthotic. It's a bit expensive but I guess I need to trust that this treatment has had success for other patients. The fear of the unknown, can I tolerate the device, will it work, then what? Other than that.... I'm ready to give it a try.

This was my first appt post the switch regarding insurance. The office did a fine job in explaining the change and confirming my expectations for the cost of the visit and how insurance would work. I realized late in the process one additional difference: I now pay my deductible before the dental insurance kicks in, where in-network visits are not subject to deductible. You may want to give consideration to that circumstance in your pricing policy in the future.
