Dr Pietig is thorough and always on top of what is going on with my eyes. As I age, my eyes, like the other parts, are experiencing changes. Keeping them healthy is important. I know Dr Pietig is doing a great job.

This was my second annual checkup at Ankeny Family Vision Center and I couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Todd was very personable, thorough and took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. I could tell that he truly cares about the eye health of his patients. The eye care assistants were also very personable and caring from the front desk on back. All in all, I couldn't ask for a better place to trust my eye care.

The staff at this location are very polite. They quickly got us checked in. They also have more current technology in place for their exams and discuss anything that wouldn’t be covered by my eye insurance. The location is convenient, clean, modern, and had a pleasing aesthetic/atmosphere. The provider I saw discussed my options for contact lenses and sent me with a comparable brand to test out for comparison before deciding which to order. She listened when I spoke and was not dismissive or rushed. I am glad I decided to come here!

Dr. Mandy is always very thorough in checking my eyes and making sure I have the best prescription for my day-to-day life. And the woman who helped me pick out my frames (was her name Barbara? Sorry I can’t remember) was so patient with me and provided such great insight and advice when helping me choose my frames. I don’t usually post surveys and reviews, but I feel this is necessary for anyone who hasn’t used Ankeny Family Vision and are looking at reviews. I’ve been seeing Dr. Mandy for probably 15 years and she is amazing. When I first saw her she set me up with the correct prescription (prior doc didn’t have it right) and now I take my family. My daughter (4 years old) had a great time and actually remembered being there a year ago for her first appointment (she described things I had forgotten, like how Dr Mandy used animal characters to evaluate eye sight). They are very child friendly. I appreciate Dr Mandy’s willingness to work with me as a patient. She takes time to answer questions and get to know me yet didn’t take too long in my appointment. I travel 30 minutes to see her, and will be moving further away soon. However I still plan to make the trip to see her; that’s how much I value her professional opinion and professionalism in her office.

My daughter had an amazing experience. Everyone was great and made my daughter feel comfortable and were so patient! They even did a little "dance party" after she got done looking for the picture where she had to stay super still! It was cute and then she picked out some super cute glasses! The doctors are great, we sure miss Dr. Waters. The front desk gals and the initial person who takes you back to the room are so very pleasant and kind. However, the last three visits I’ve had for myself or one of my kids, we’ve waited 30 minutes to an hour to see the doctor. This past time my appt was 2:15 and I didn’t see the doctor until 3:10. I have three little kids and honestly, those type of wait times are simply ridiculous. I’ve waited less time at an urgent care. I’m not sure if they are just overbooked or have their appointment slots too close together but it sure doesn’t seem like the doctors can keep up with the scheduled patients in a timely manner.

Took both my kids for their first vision tests and it was a great experience for them and me. I appreciate how thorough they conducted the tests before coming to a conclusion; one child had great eyesite and the other needed glasses. Everything was checked and double/triple checked with various tests. I felt confident in the decision and recommendations. I'm a new customer at Ankeny Family Vision Center. I'm very satisfied after my exam with Dr. Waters, David help me find some great frames, Brittany calculated the cost options, Mark fitted my new glasses, and Barbara answered my questions on the phone. The ladies at the counter who check you in are very pleasant. I really like the fact that they have you wait in your car until the phone you to come in, check your temperature right away, and ask you to wash your hands at the nearby sink. That's very important during COVID-19. Overall, I'm happy to find such a great place for my new glasses!

Being a brand new patient my first impression was, This place is super clean and the customer service is AMAZING. I felt my eye exam form Dr. Pietig was very thorough he took his time and made sure i was going to get the best vision. I enjoyed that they had an area of toys for my child even though we did not wait long at all to go back she really enjoyed it (plus a few toys in the exam room to keep her occupied while i had my exam) . The selection of glasses from the Womens, mens and kids is great! I had no trouble finding a frame that i really liked.

I came in because the contacts I had purchased were very uncomfortable and I was very unhappy with them. My doctor gave me two other brands to try. I've only tried one of them so far but I am SO pleased! She also gave me a few different samples of eye drops to try but I haven't needed to try those since I've been using the new contacts. :) She also gave me some different contact solution to try-- I will try to use that with the old contacts to see if that makes a difference also. I also had a bump in my eye and she told me what I could do to treat it. My doctor was great!

I believe I saw Dr. Walters in regards to losing my right peripheral vision. She was VERY thorough in the tests that she ran. She came to the conclusion that my eyes were fine and that it was more than my eyes. She diagnosed it as a Right Homonymous Hemianopsia and she was spot on! THANK YOU!

I should have spent more time exploring the various lens options to avoid buying bells and whistles I didn't understand, didn't want or need, and couldn't weigh the cost / benefits by not having asked more questions. You assumed I'd want the very best but that ship has sailed being on a fixed income. I left questioning if I should ever buy lenses or frames in this setting again.
