I was impressed with the additional measurements taken during my intake, which has not been the case at previous providers. This supports the holistic approach that I was looking for when I was recommended to go in. I appreciated that Dr Sam was willing to go into as much detail as I was comfortable with and enjoyed learning more about how they approach treatment. I was provided with multiple options to pursue and look forward to my next visit to discuss those in detail.

Alderwood Vision Therapy Center is incredible. The front office staff, the person who does the brief exam, and the doctors are world class. Dr. Guillermo Del Campo has been such an amazing resource for me. I came to him initially after a concussion and he met me with such sincerity, compassion, empathy and world class expertise. I cannot recommend him enough, especially if anyone is looking for a doctor who has experience treating patients with concussions or TBIs. My insurance is no longer contracted with them unfortunately, but I still choose to come here over anywhere because of Dr. G and his top notch care. I cannot express enough how grateful I am!

The visit with my daughter exceeded my expectations. My daughter is in the spectrum and non-verbal. I'm very thankful on how she was very professionally managed at the facility by Dr.Jensen and his one supporting male staff ( I'm sorry I don't have the male support staff's name). Dr.Jensen and the male staff was very very patient and receptive for my daughter. We will be back for the next appointment in March 2024.

I received excellent care and believe that by coming to Alderwood Vision Therapy versus another provider made all the difference in finding an issue in my vision that had previously gone unnoticed. Getting this corrected will have a positive impact on my life, so it is a very important discovery made possibly by a very complete exam. Dr Guillermo is a great human. I am guessing he would be a great anything if he were something else. He was professional with a prominent personality that fit mine perfectly. My Daughter goes to him and suggested I look into the migraine treatment and that I would like Dr. G.. She was right. Dr. Jensen is so incredibly. He takes the time to listen to my child and really make sure he is hearing her concerns. I appreciate how he explained everything and answered questions, and I really feel like he's evaluating her holistically. I also really appreciated all of the staff. They are so friendly and make it a great environment for my kid (down to small but important details like making sure that my child first felt the puff of air on her arm so she wouldn't be surprised when it puffed in her eye).

I have always appreciated Alderwood Vision Therapy Center. First, we saw Dr. Torgerson and now Dr. McCaffree. They are both excellent in so many ways. Because my daughter has Down syndrome, it's important to find alternate means to figure out her vision needs. If I were rating only on this, I would give you a perfect 10! However, I was discouraged when I filled out the pre-visit forms this time. I like to have Hannah help with this. She was confused when we got to the part about "gender" and "pronouns." I personally find the question about pronouns offensive. I would ask whether it is a necessary step in the process. If someone wants to be called by a different pronoun, they can tell you that. We shouldn't all have to be asked a question that many find offensive to appease the small portion of the population that have chosen this lifestyle.

My daughter is not able to be tested with a traditional vision chart, but Dr. Sam demonstrated the signature elements of the clinic in her creative use of their diagnostic methods and we now have an accurate vision prescription. The original inspiration of Dr. Torgerson to create this vision clinic is unique and so needed. The skill, patience, creativity, and flexibility of the Alderwood Vision practice in general will keep us coming back. Our experience this week was all we had hoped for and more. Need help with vision issues after a stroke. Was told they are booked up for more than a week for initial evaluation but after explaining reason and how important it was to get me started with treatment. They fit me in to see a doctor the next day which was fabulous. I saw Dr. G and he was unbelievable. Listened to me and my concerns and fears. He took his time in explaining all that may be happening and steps moving forward. I never felt the "rush" that is typical these days with appointments and schedules of other patience. He really broke down all the steps moving forward and I felt I was listened too. I am so happy I called and am getting my care from you. Dr G is a rockstar along with the front office staff.

If I could score our visit just with the doctor, I would give it 5 stars. She was kind, professional, very knowledgeable and excellent with my son who has many special needs. When we first walked in, the front desk was also kind. However, when the medical aid came out, she immediately brought attention to the fact that my son was not wearing a mask. He has a medical exemption, but she still did not back down. She told us the doctor may not feel comfortable with him not wearing a mask and for us to please go sit out in the hallway. I was completely shocked and humiliated. She did this in front of other patients in the waiting room. Keep in mind, we were all socially distanced (even though CDC guidelines no longer recommend that), and yet we were made to feel like we were some sort of disease. We go to multiple doctor offices who work close up with my son, and I have never had an issue with his exemption. I would encourage management to brief your staff on the laws behind medical exemptions. The rules don’t apply to those who are medically exempt. I felt that my son was medically discriminated against, not because he looked sick or had a fever, but simply because he did not have a mask on. I was very tempted to leave and not give a dime to your services due to this experience. I was furious as we had to continue waiting in the hallway. Needless to say, I was an emotional wreck due to the ignorance and humiliation of this staff member. Your office signage is also outdated. It is not “flu season” as posted in the waiting room and socially distance is not a guideline from the cdc.

Austin spent a lot of time with me trying to work out an option for eyeglasses to improve my visions for my astigmatism since my cataract surgery. I think he has found a good option. The rest of exam was very thorough and he answered any questions I asked. It was a good and comfortable experience

Appointment was to be 140pm but never was able to start till after 2pm, the doctor was great and really worked well with my son and love to return to him. After Appointment was done was told had some paperwork still needing to be completed so had to wait another 15 minutes for them to pull us back to actually do more vision tests that were already completed prior the staff just noted on wrong chart not being done.

My daughter has special needs and they were excellent with her and had special ways of administering test already set up. They also recognized when she needed to be done and automatically made the decision to make a second appointment.

Perhaps that is mainly because Dr. Hash made some likely very important discoveries about the nature of my vision problems. Alderwood Vision Therapy Center has been a blessing for my daughter. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff. You can tell they love what they do. This is the place to come for excellent and thorough vision care. The exam is very thorough. These providers are specialists in refraction and if needed, vision therapy for eye exercises which can work with your glasses to make the most of your vision. If I had young children I wouldn't go anywhere else to have their vision evaluated and corrected if need be. Everyone in the office is super nice and the waiting area is child oriented with activities to keep kids occupied. I have to drive 26 miles each way to come here but it's totally worth it!

It has been a pleasure working with Alderwood Vision Therapy. Everyone from office staff to therapists to doctors are experts and genuinely want to help their patients with vision challenges. They make vision therapy fun while retraining the brain to see differently. After graduation, my daughter was sad that she could not visit with her therapist, Jared, each week because he listened to her, challenged her, and made her laugh. My biggest concern is there is very little interaction with the Dr. Once admitted into the program we have received no updates from the Dr. and we have not been given progress reports so we are not sure if we are on track (making steady progress) or off track. Additionally the Dr. who admitted us has left the practice and we were not given a follow up meeting with another Dr. even after asking as folks were on vacation. For the price it seems the practice should be a little higher touch as it is quite expensive. We have gotten more comprehensive reports from our tutors. Hoping for some solid data driven information in our next meeting.

The reason we chose Alderwood over a practice in Bothell was that we were told on the phone that vision therapy appointments were AVAILABLE. Only AFTER we incurred a $320 office visit, we were told that there was NO AVAILABILITY and that when a slot "opened up", we could take it or leave it at that time. Also, we were specific when we asked on the phone, about total charges for 3 months of treatment...however, at the very first appointment, the very first form I was asked to sign was for an ADDITIONAL $40 picture of the optic nerve (strongly recommended but optional) which we were NOT told about before we arrived. Just little things that can leave a sour taste and create an awkward experience.

Our family of eight has been using Alderwood Vision therapy for our vision needs since 2010. We are very impressed with their thorough exams and clear explanations as we try to understand our children's vision needs. We have some difficult vision problems that many Doctors do not understand well. Not only have we had correct diagnosisis but we have also been supported and encouraged as we seek better vision for our children. We live an hour and a half away and feel it is absolutely worth the drive. No matter what your vision needs are Alderwood Vision Therapy will take care of you!

We have been seeing the doctors at Alderwood Vision Therapy for over 12 years since my oldest son went through Vision Therapy. The exams are very thorough and include testing that isn't done in a regular Optometrist office. My oldest son struggled with reading until 3rd grade when his teacher noticed that his verbal skills were far ahead of his reading skills. Upon recommendation of the parent of a fellow classmate we discovered Alderwood Vision Therapy and upon his exam with Dr. Torgeson it was discovered that he had a few things challenging his ability to read including double vision. How is a child to know they have that when their vision has always been that way? Vision therapy was a life changer for our son who quickly caught up in his reading abilities during and after vision therapy. No more tears during homework! Our younger son also had some issues with his vision but with some home excercises he didn't need vision therapy to correct his vision.

Dr Carrie Murphy was excellent and very knowledgeable. She explained what she was doing as well as what the eye deficits were in laymen’s terms and made us feel completely comfortable having both our 1½ and 3 year old in her office with us ( and they were a little cranky at 7:15am). She was kind to our boys and engaged our 1 ½ year old well to evaluate him.

I would most definitely refer Alderwood Vision Center to anyone seeking a caring, considerate staff with equipment that can even take awesome pictures of the back of your eye. Not only do I get an eye exam from Dr. Maher, she takes time to explain what she is doing and is extremely interested in finding the right solution for my eyes and my daily living/work situation. She not only makes sure I get the best eye exam, she is ensures my overall physical well-being is reviewed---the eyes are the window to your soul and so much more.!

Prescribed by my neurologist, who recognized some of the symptoms I was experiencing following a brain injury incurred in an automobile accident, I arrived at Alderwood Vision Therapy I not knowing what to expect, and not understanding how vision therapy could help me. It turns out that my eyes were just fine for my age, but the way in which my brain was processing that visual information was not fine. After a few visits and some easy DIY at-home eye therapy, my vision returned to normal, as did my overall sense of well-being. I learned that the visual portion of the brain does not act as an island, but interacts with the whole of our perception and reaction to the World around us.

Dr. Hash's understanding of post concussion syndrome has been a relief to us. We finally have answers after 16 years of doctors appointments. Everyone we interacted with was great, as usual. I am consistently impressed with everyone we deal with at Alderwood Vision Therapy. From the employees at the front desk, the technicians we see before the doctor, and the doctors themselves, people are warm, they are very competent, and they are clearly trying to do a really good job, not just marking time. I've always gotten full and complete explanations to my questions and enough time to ask until I understand the situation and my options. I've recommended this office in the past and will continue to do so.

It's the staff from the doctors to the receptionist that make you welcome. The doctors are extremely well educated and qualified and are easy to communicate with. I also feel I get the right prescription and diagnosis and elsewhere I have not felt that. And everyone is a bit goofy.

It was a vast amount of information in a short time. I was disappointed to not walk away with more notes that I could understand. It was actually very hard to repeat what I heard Dr. Anita tell me back to my husband. It all went very fast and I didn't take notes because she said we would get them...but they were very collegiate.

I have learned so much about vision, tracking, binocular vision---where my eyes are focusing, how to work them to see better, and how to compensate for difficulties while still keeping an open mind for improvement to still happen. I enjoy my vision therapy and therapist SO MUCH!!! My therapist is so knowledgeable and listens to me and answers my questions--or at least wonders WITH me!!! We work on lots of different strengthening vision exercises, and she is encouraging and positive. She gives me cool stuff for homework and I practice various exercises, even when I'm out walking my dog! My neuro-ophthalmologist is AMAZINGLY wonderful. She is encouraging and seems to understand everything I describe, which has been very reassuring for me. The office workers are helpful and fun, too. The office feels open and positive and kind---like they enjoy their work and the people who are coming for therapy. It feels like an office full of friends and folks who believe in what they are doing, and genuinely want each patient to have the very best experience and outcomes possible.

Everyone on the Therapy team is extremely upbeat and supportive. My only complaint is the difficulty of making up missed appointments and concrete evidence that the therapy is working. I realize that progress is measured differently for each patient, but my son is not convinced that he is improving. Improvement does require patience so we shall give it bit more time before deciding. It is difficult to discern whether maturity or the Therapy itself is involved in his improvements.

Our son was diagnosed with amblyopia at age 5. Even with glasses, the best our family eye doctor could do for him was getting him to see at about 20/150 in his weak eye, but referred us to AVT. With the help of Drs. Torgerson and Murphy and their vision therapists, he now sees 20/20 in both eyes and his glasses prescription is at about a 1/3 of its original strength!!!

The team at Alderwood Vision Therapy is amazing. We have been impressed with the doctors as well as the therapist (we love you Ginger!). We would never have dreamed that our child needed vision therapy, but when we found out, and had subsequent meetings with Alderwood's doctors, we realized we were in good hands. The improvement seen in our child's vision has been drastic, and for this alone i would recommend it to anyone. The only reason its not 5 stars is the cost...It's an expensive service, and not 100% covered by insurance, so unfortunately it could be a luxury for some families.

Good service but overly strict cancellation and makeup policy. Things come up when you have kids and families should not be penalized when kids get sick or families go on vacation, etc. I would like to see Alderwood reach out to patients and craft a more patient friendly makeup policy for vision therapy.
