I've been going to Accent on Vision for years--in every area of service, from medical expertise, to customer service, to optical to a professional, warm and friendly staff, Accent on Vision is wonderful. On numerous occasions over the years, the doctors and staff have gone well beyond the call of duty to address an emergency medical need, or something with a pair of glasses, or something else. I trust their competence, and appreciate how well they've always taken care of me. I recommend them unconditionally.

As always, the staff was professional, knowledgable and courteous. Recently, while on an international trip, I had emergency eye surgery. Dr. Thibodeaux, reviewed the letter which I brought from the surgeon and directed his staff to perform several tests. He then reviewed and explained the test results, and using those results, performed a thorough examination of my eye. The result was that I came away from the examination with confidence that my recovery is proceeding well, but more importantly, knowing that a local, trusted professional was now familiar with my case and would be there to provide whatever follow up care is required.

I was treated very well and the business is nicely organized and feels good. My only complaint was that I was asked to throw away my contacts and told that I would get a new pair later. Some things changed along the course of my visit with regards to contact lens fitting so I didn't end up getting a contacts exam. So they wouldn't provide me with new contacts. I was also buying new frames and since I'm nearsighted it made it pretty difficult to choose a style without my contacts in. They worked with me and took photos of me so I could see them with my glasses on but it could have all been avoided if my contacts weren't thrown out.

I went to Accent on Vision after 3 bad experiences so I really was prepared for the worst. The office staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The medical staff were able to answer questions I had and explain things to my level of understanding. I had a much better idea of what to ask once I did see the doctor. I am not the best at understanding medical issues so it is very easy to talk over my head or opt for intimidation tactics that I had previously experienced. The doctor gave me options, explained pros and cons, and time to soak it all in. I really appreciate the care and ability of the staff to put things in language I understand.

The technician was not professional in her dress and I felt embarrassed. I will try to buy my glasses from a different place.

The weight of eyewear annoys me so when the 20 year old radial keratotomy surgery began to fail contacts seemed the obvious choice. But after RK or Lasix the eye has scar tissue and shape change that is difficult to refract and comfort in the lense is challenging. Dr. Thibodeaux patiently worked through all the obstacles eventually getting me back in contact lenses with 20/20 fabulous visual acuity. All his staff are a pleasure functioning as a great team. Thank you all.

My exam with the doctor was difficult. Staff kept opening and closing the door and it was very distracting. It makes me wonder whether I received the correct re-fraction. The person who checked me out was very rude and hateful. I have never had this experience before. I think I'll find another doctor. I think I will recommend to my friends and family who come to see the same doctor find another doctor.

I would have liked to been told to expect pain and discomfort and options to relieve that. I slept very little, and I still have some pain today in my right eye. It hurt so much I was thinking perhaps that I could have really injured my eye. It's better today, but as the day goes on, it is feeling itchy.

The staff was on phones, so it is hard to be on the phone and welcome customer, maybe dedicated line for questions and appointments. Too many times the staff takes more time than necessary on phones, leaving one standing there feeling like they are violating HIPPA. Dr is wonderful and understanding.

I had been experiencing dry eye along with pain for a number of years and the doctor I was seeing would only suggest lubricant drops. Upon visiting Accent Vision, it was discovered that I suffered from blockage to oil glands that I was not even aware that we had under our eyelids! I gained so much knowledge from my first visit. I am also following a plan that will help relieve the dryness and the pain. I was very impressed with all that was explained to me. This is a great place for great care and I would definitely refer my family and friends to Accent Vision.

I received a new prescription and was told that it had changed dramatically from the previous. as we met with the lady to go over new glasses/frames, my intent was to have the new prescription put into existing frames, (three pairs purchased in 15'). we were told that that was not allowed. you had to buy frames with the new lenses. also, this person identified that the prescription didnt change enough to warrant new lenses. with that being said, we left. concerned, my husband called to speak with the doctor later that afternoon and was told that he highly recommended having the new prescription filled. the assistant that did not want to sell lenses alone lost a sale, and we will not be going back.

Being that I'm a new patient with Accent Vision I am not impressed with the service from the front office. I love the Drs. They are very knowledgable and accommodating. I was told by the staff that my medical insurance would be billed and then after I inquired about glasses I was told different. My VSP insurance was billed and I was not eligible for the annual glasses. I landed up paying full price. This affected me twice as I had to order computer glasses as well. My out of pocket should not have been more than $200 but I had to pay well over $400. My vision problems are of medical issues. I feel your office should bill medical and not cause undue financial hardship on your customers.

The only problem I had was with the young woman who did my initial screening. I told her I was hearing impaired and needed to read lips. I had to keep reminding her as she continued to talk while behind a machine and I couldn't understand her. Next, she got up from her seat and came toward me with a hand held device to measure my eye pressure. I had never seen the implement that looked like it had a pointed end and was startled when she started putting it on my eye without any explanation. Really, she needs to learn how to explain what she is about to do before she just goes and does it. I was frightened and never comfortable in your office after that.

I went in for a cataract evaluation. Dr. Tachau did acknowledge that there were cataracts that could be removed. I was a bit confused because he indicated that I might not want to have them treated so that I wouldn't have to wear glasses at all but also seemed to indicate that perhaps I ought to have the kind where I would wear glasses for driving and for reading at some point. I am not disturbed by this as I expect it will be further clarified when I visit the doctor at Eye Associates who I will consult with before making any decision at all.

I would prefer to have both visits scheduled separately from the start.

I was called after a long wait and seen briefly. I was then told to wait in the lobby for a room to become available. After another long wait I was then called back by a tech 2 minutes into exam the doctor abruptly interrupted and took over the exam. I felt that after such along wait my exam was hurried through and rushed. I felt like I was being rushed out the door. My appointment was at 10 am I left the office close to 11:30 out of that 1 1/2 hour visit I spent maybe 10 minutes in the exam room for what was just a routine check up.

Dr. Tachau spent a more than reasonable amount of time with me also explaining what he was looking for and what he found. He also gave me options for how to deal with the problem for which I came in. I called the day before and was able to see the doctor within 24 hours. That's almost unheard of in any medical situation. I am always pleased with the care and service I receive at Accent on Vision. My only comment is that the front office personnel always seems to change from one yearly appointment to another.

The frame I selected was marked 40% off,but when I returned to get the order completed she told me NO! This would be a 'double discount' since I had insurance... what a great way to do business ... I think this is called 'bait and switch' isn't it? And she immediately assumed that I was going to choose the most expensive options and even filled out the form that way until I objected and she had to cross out & refill option boxes. I have been doing business with Dr. Thibodeaux for many many years, and so am very disappointed with this visit & will definitely think about taking my business elsewhere next time.

The visit was fine. Dr. Pulis was helpful. It was everything leading up to the visit that was challenging. I explained several times to several different people that the prescription, not the eyeglasses, were the problem. Each person insisted that they had to check the eyeglasses. I had to visit twice to deal with the eyeglasses even though I KNEW that wasn't the problem. I felt that I was not listened to. I have spent four months seeing double, spending money on lenses, and experimenting until I figured out the problem. Until yesterday, I was extremely frustrated. Dr. Pulis resolved the issue and explained everything but it should not have taken four months to realize that I needed to see Dr. Pulis.

It would be so nice if doctors these days saw one patient at a time and didn't have to shift from one exam and patient to another. I realize in this day and age this is probably impossible, but it sure would improve the time I wait in the exam room to finish my appointment. I do like Accent on Vision and the people who work there are very friendly and helpful. The day after my appointment a great deal of care was taken to make sure my contact lens bill was accurate.

I have been a patient at Accent on Vision for about 10 years, and this was my worst visit. I don't understand how a basic eye exam and contact fitting can cost over $250 out of pocket. I had to wait 40 minutes for my appointment and then wait for the doctor to appear after the tech. He couldn't even decide which contacts to fit me with so gave me two pairs, unmarked. He was flustered and seemed to tire with me and rushed me out the door. I spent 2 hours, a ton of money, and came out confused and ripped off. Will definitely be my last visit here.

The past several visits we've had to wait for at least 30 minutes and up to more than an hour to be seen. Regardless of how nice and how good your staff is (and they're very nice and very good), I simply can't justify taking that much time out of my day to sit in a waiting room. Once called back, things progress efficiently ... but again, that much of a wait? Either you're scheduling too many people for each time period, the appointments take an unexpectedly long time (which, if it happens frequently, should become an expected, planned-for event), or your practice has simply gotten too busy and you haven't adjusted to it yet.
