Staff were friendly and professional. They were able to fit me in within two days time of being referred to the Center. Dr. Davis was very thorough in explaining the problems causing my symptoms. She also went through the testing and treatment options. I would definitely recommend Hughes Eye Center.

Dr. Underwood did my LASIK surgery over 15 years ago. He did my wife’s cataract surgery a few years ago and my cataract surgery in 2022. The surgeries came out okay, and everyone at Hughes were friendly and professional at their jobs. I developed a secondary cataract that can happen to 1 in 10 folks that have cataract surgery. Dr. Underwood used the YAG laser in the office that only takes a few minutes and was painless. He is a really nice doctor.

I want to thank Dr Matt Hughes for the time he takes to educate me and to answer my questions. He is the practitioner that I normally see. I have been treated by Cayce Davis and Elizabeth Nordtvedt - these ladies are excellent. David Underwood did a LASIC type procedure for me - I did not spend much time talking to him, but I am very satisfied with the work he did. The support staff - no better word to use - excellent. As far as recommendations - Hughes is best eyecare in West TN. The only thing missing is that they do not prescribe eyeglasses - you will have to go elsewhere, but for conditions and diseases of the eye, go to Hughes.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the center's staff. Dr. Davis talked me through the procedure thoroughly. Dr. Underwood came in before my eye procedures and made me feel I was in safe hands for the surgery. Two weeks later, I am very happy with the results and am seeing clearly. I would definitely recommend Hughes Eye Center to anyone needing cataract surgery.

My wife and I have both been treated by Doctor Underwood in the past several years with good results. My time for cataract surgery has come so I had my examination at the Hughes Eye Center done and now scheduled for surgery. When I arrived the day of testing, l got called back within minutes of my appointment. From the testing and up to the scheduling process was done in an orderly manner and everyone involved were really nice.

I had what appeared to be an urgent medical condition which occurred spontaneously It was after clinic hours. I was able to reach the doctor "on call" . She listened and agreed I needed to be examined quickly. She made certain I would be seen the next morning for urgent care. It was comforting to know that help was available no matter the hour of day.

I had an eye injury from my regular doctor that was not open on Good Friday. I had only been to Hughes once before and called them and they worked me in and took good care of my eye. They are great people and really seem to care about a person's eye health. I would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Hughes has been taking care of my eyes for many years. I am diabetic and he keeps a close watch and does all necessary tests needed to be sure my vision is preserved. He keeps a close check for glaucoma, of which he says "glaucoma and diabetes are good friends" and I surely don't want anything to do with that! I couldn't ask for a nicer, more efficient group of people to care for my vision. I would recommend them to everyone!

I had a pleasant experience yesterday when I went for my YAG surgery. The staff was warm and friendly, the waiting rooms were nice, and the doctor kept me from being nervous with his corny jokes! Hughes technicians were awesome. I was in and out in less than 1.5 hours for a full cataract work-up. Moved from station to station efficiently. Only delay was the physical eye exam which had to wait for pupil dilation, to be expected. Dr Elizabeth spent adequate time explaining her findings and the upcoming procedure. Knew I was in good hands.

I have now had my second appointment with Hughes prior to cataract surgery. This is not a typical Dr. office where you make it there on time for your appointment and then wait for an hour to be seen by the staff. They are very efficient and timely. The staff is professional and friendly and they take the time to answer questions. They put you completely at ease about your treatment. I am looking forward to my surgery and I am confident all will go well.

I was very pleased at how fast I was seen after my eye Doctor contacted Hughes Eye Group. The testing was competed and my surgery scheduled during the first visit. My questions were answered and the lens that I thought I would need were not recommended but a lower level lens because of the shape of my eyes. I was all set to go within that first visit.

The results were great. My expression when the technicians and doctors finished the laser treatment probably did not express my true feelings.....all i could say was "WOW". i have been wearing coke bottle bottoms for glasses since i was diagnosed in second grade. I graduated to hard plastic contacts in 1964 then soft contacts later. i once asked Dr House, since retired many years now...."just exactly how bad is my sight and he said i really don't know exactly.....the chart does not above 20/400..... i am sure he was teasing, but he said he was not teasing. but i could see.. All i could say after the laser treatment was WOW. The laughed, i said WOW again and Thank you. i am not wearing my "bring 'em up closers" to tyoe this. So allow me to say "thank you" again,

Everyone starting at the reception desk through to the exit administration was of the highest professional caliber. Everyone was very kind and friendly and helpful. Rarely have I seen a team as well organized as Dr Nordtvedt and the team of technologist. Everyone knows their job well enough that there was no wasted movements. Every member of the staff, I encountered was extremely knowledgeable answering my every question with obvious competence yet easily understood by myself. Dr Nordtvedt very professionally explained every test I had before meeting her and what she learned from her examination. Even the measurement words I had never heard before. From the entrance at sign in/appointment varification, the technical staff, Dr Nordtvedt to my exit interview by the business staff I was treated with respect. Their was never a doubt of the importance of accuracy and precision of the exam results, yet each person I encountered had a wonderful sense of humor.

I have had great testing (never before done) and great inter-discussion with Dr, Nurse and staff. Had many questions answered, and clear, concise directions on after surgery care. Office staff was very friendly and helpful. Very short wait time for my work up and exam. The doctor went over what was wrong with my eye. The doctor applied some numbing solution on my eye lid, the area was drained. The office called in an antibiotic to my preferred pharmacy. I was instructed to call in if I had any further problem with my eye. The front office staff and the eye doctor put me at ease, wait time was minimal. Overall a good experience. I would recommend Hughes Eye Center to family and friends.

Mr. Hughes has been my eye specialist since 2000 which was shortly after I moved to the area. I have seen many specialists in New Orleans, Memphis, and Little Rock. I would say he is comparable to the specialists in the larger cities. I can't remember how many loose stitches he has had to clip and remove from my eye over the years. If you have eye issues, then he is a very good choice.

I have never been more impressed with any medical facility and staff I have visited. I submitted the online new visit form for symptoms of possible Retinal detachment at 8 pm...at 7:45 the next morning I was being called by staff to come in! I filled out usual papers and shortly thereafter was escorted into the initial exam room for preliminary tests. Minutes after I went to the exam room for more test and Dr. Hughes then greeted me with wartmth and great bedside manner. We forged thru all needed tests and going no Retinal damage to my relief. Snce my other eye was injured as a child Dr. Hughes suggested a return visit in two weeks. Awesome experience all around here...A1.

I wouldn't go anywhere else! Was very please from the time I walked in the door till the time I walked out!!! Everyone was great and went out of way to make sure I was comfortable and answered every question I had. I am so glad that Dr Long referred me to them which she highly recommended.

I have never seen a Dr that he & his staff were as caring for their patients as Hughes Eye Center. They called me the night that I had surgery to see how I was doing. I have NEVER had a Dr do that. The staff have all been very sweet. Every time I have been in there they all have a smile on their faces.

The Hughes Eye Center is an excellent provider. Dr. Hughes is very good at explaining what is going on with your eyes, what needs to be done, and why they are recommending what needs to be done. They take the time to ensure that you understand what has been covered. The surgeon I have been treated by is Dr. Underwood. He and the surgery team are very organized and have high expectations of what your outcome should be. The use of multiple physicians really results in a very high quality, caring, but efficient overall service. I can highly recommend them based on my office visits and cataract surgery. In addition, I requested an earlier appointment for surgery if someone cancelled. They did have a cancellation and got me into surgery 2 weeks earlier. That doesn't always happen, but I was impressed that they did note I wanted that and made an effort to make sure I got in earlier. If you have followup questions, they do an excellent job of making sure the right person is answering the question.

I spoke with Rachel on the phone twice, once to get an appointment for a post-op check. She said she'd call me with an appt. time and didn't, I had to call office to find out the time..No problem. Initial visit in Savannah, I paid $20 for a post-op packet and was told "they" would supply it. I never received it. I supplied my own sunglasses and devised my own eye shield. I called about this and spoke with Rachel for the second time. She said she'd check on this and call me in two hours. That was on the day of surgery, now 3 days ago, and she never called. I don't need the packet now or for my next surgery, but would like to have my $20 refunded. Thank you.
